We really enjoy opening our home to our friends at church, we eat lots of food, laugh, and get to know each other better. As we approached
Hamlet’s birthday we also found out that another little girl, named Jireh, in our church is having a birthday next week. Her parents wanted to have a get-together and so we offered our home for the party and decided to combine the celebrations for Hamlet and Jireh on Saturday night (Hamlet and Jireh are good friends).
We took a risk and decided to make burgers. Some of our guests had never had burgers before so we were afraid at how they would like them. I have learned to make a couple of Ugandan dishes but am not confident to cook a entire Ugandan meal for a Ugandan audience. Thankfully, the burgers were a hit!

Hamlet was so serious when it came to the time to cut the cake. Cake cutting at parties and celebrations are a big deal here, and at four, Hamlet already understands that. Three days before, he had asked his mom if he could cut his own cake at the party. She told him he could and he was so excited. When he was handed the knife he became so patient and serious while we sang "Happy Birthday" to him. Once we were done he slowly and deliberately cut the cake and was so proud to do so.

Then it was Jireh's turn to be sung to and then cut the cake and it was not such a controlled situation. We had a great night of fellowship and are so glad that we can have thirty people in our home and send them home with full stomaches. Because of your support, a night like this can happen fairly easily, thank you!
I love your post. I am glad to see Helen. She looked at home with everyone. Thanks for opening your home to us. You are a great Blessing.
