We have a house!

Yesterday the contract was signed and the first 6 months rent was paid! Before we can move in, the landlord needs to do some maintenance around the place (fix some tile, varnish the wood, add an outlet to one room, do a little painting), not at our request but his. The repairs should take about a week, so we hope to be in the house before next weekend. The cost is below our budget which is also a good thing.

First of all we want to say “thank you” for praying!!! The Lord seems to have opened doors to make this happen and we are excited to see how he uses us in this place. We did not want to have too many expectations because we had no idea what would be before us. Our desire was to try to be as flexible as possible, so if we had to share with the Allens we were willing, if it were to live in an apartment or a house we were willing. We were just trying to be open to whatever the Lord brought us. Here are some of the specs of what he provided:
4 bedrooms
3 bathrooms
kitchen (with plenty of cupboards)
large dining room
large living room
One car garage

The house is two stories and is a duplex (so it shares one wall) in a compound with six total duplexes. Basically the house is big, because of this we are sharing it with the Allens. Best of all it is walking distance from UCF and Makerere.

Today we went to the house to take measurements of the rooms so that we can look for and purchase furniture. We are so thankful for how the Lord has made a way for us and we are excited to get settled down in one place for a while.
