Great is his faithfulness

Yesterday (Wednesday) was a full day. We moved from Matoke to Pastor Micah’s house. So, we packed up what we needed for the next couple of weeks into two suitcases and put the rest of it in storage at AIM’s office. Micah has a guest house, which is great for us and the Allens. The other nice thing is that Matoke and UCF were on opposite sides of Kampala, but Micah’s house is close to UCF. It’s good to be on the right side of town.

In the evening, we had an official “welcoming” from the leadership at UCF, which was a huge blessing! The leadership includes a number of people from Elders to various ministry volunteers. In all, there was about 25 to 30 people in attendance. We met them and just heard a brief history on who they were, where they come from and how long they have been at UCF. Perhaps the most encouraging part of these stories was the good number of people that had been at UCF since its early days. We saw a core of people that love UCF and are passionate about what God is doing through it. These people want to stay around and continue to build the health of the church. Seeing this brought great encouragement to us as we look to establish long term relationships and to carry the church to the next generation.

And to be honest, its nice to finally feel present at UCF and feel like we are at the beginning of what God has called us to do. During our meeting, we all sang the chorus and bridge to “How Great is Our God.” While singing, the Holy Spirit took me through the process of recounting all that it had taken to get to Uganda, from the time that I first heard about UCF as a Junior High student until now. God loves me and Sarah very much.

He truly is a great God, the name above all names and worthy to be praised.

“Great is thy faithfulness
Great is thy faithfulness
Morning by morning new mercies I see
All I have needed thy hands have provided
Great is thy faithfulness Lord unto me”
