Rain

A few days ago we had another really bad rain storm. We are fortunate to live in a sturdy house that can withstand the storm so our first reaction typically is to just marvel at it, and in this case even dance in it. When it began to rain this last time we had the thought to take video of it to show here. The video is definitely silly and we still thought we would share it with you.

Even though we are being silly we would seriously like to ask you to pray for those who cannot have joy in the midst of a rain storm. There was flooding in Kampala that caused much damage, and mud slides in the east of Uganda that took peoples lives and were very destructive. Some people's response is to be mad at God, "Why would he allow this?" others feel despair and think they will never catch a break. Pray that the Lord's Kingdom would continue to come in Uganda.

While we were marveling at the rain, water was pouring into our bedroom upstairs. Even though our house is sturdy, rain found a way to enter through one of the window sills in our bedroom. We were glad that it only took about a half hour to clean up and we could prevent further water from coming in. Compared to many people our clean up was so minor, days later we can still see some of the effects of the rain at our neighbors and around town.
