Roommates and Reminders

Ok not really roommates but housemates but I had to have the alliteration... a week from today we are moving in with these beautiful people:

For those of you who don't know, those are Kyle's parents, Bob and Debbe.  They are letting us live with them for the next 4 months so that we can continue to save more money for our big move to Uganda.  We are so thankful for them and for their generosity. 

By this time next Friday we should be all moved out of this house we have lived in for the last 2 years.   Moving is forcing us to get rid of a bunch of things we don't need. We have already sold some stuff and are hoping to get rid of more things by having a garage sale in a few weeks.  Our awesome parents are allowing us to store a few things at their homes for the years that we are away in Uganda.  Last weekend we took a quick trip to my mom's in CA to move some things there.  It is always such a blessing to spend time with my mom, brother and grandma. Even if it is short we are always so blessed to be with them. 

We really feel like there is so much going on right now and our lives feel pretty busy but we are so thankful  for the support of our family and friends. 

It is hard to believe how close we are to our departure at the end of January.  We experience so many emotions as we get closer and closer to leaving.  Mostly, we continue to be excited about moving to Uganda. Occasionally, I will get choked up thinking about leaving our dear families and friends that we have such great affection for. Sometimes, we feel a bit nervous about what is ahead of us. Through it all we are so grateful of Yahweh's truths. This week he has reminded us about what it will be like when his kingdom comes.  How the difficulties on this world will seem so slight and momentary when we are surrounded by his glory. We praise him for that, and press on towards obedience as we remember truth.
